A nicely trimmed beard looks great, but I think I stumbled into something with this article and exposed my own lack of awareness. Mainly, I was trying to be self-deprecating because I've gone around not looking as good as I should and gotten away with it due to privilege. Masculinity issues often overlap with other issues and I'm feeling a need to unpack them. Also, I've had a surge of frustration lately based on some other attacks, so I'm perhaps unfairly lashing out. Ah well, it gives me something to consider for today.
