Actually, you don't know if it would have been easy for her. It's dangerous to make assumptions like that because it breeds resentment. All you can do is wish people well. You have the option to reach out to her in a couple years and ask if she's okay. But if she needs space for herself right now, you have to allow her that without resentment.
