As for me, I didn't really understand Grammar until I learned Spanish. All of a sudden I needed to learn the parts of speech so I could identify them in a foreign language. This, to me, is why it's absurd America doesn't teach foreign language from day one. It's like... why not take advantage of the BEST teaching resource to help kids learn grammar?
