Democrats are just as conservative as the Republicans. It's just that there's a wing of the Republicans that's off the charts fascist. When push comes to shove, they're both happy to gang up on progressives. It's irritating. Our first objective right now is to defeat Trump. Unfortunately every level of the government is laying down the safeguards designed to prevent the rise of a tyrant. I'm still hopeful that Biden will win in November, but, you're very right, this country has been stuck in a lingering death rattle for a long time.
