Good for you! I had a similar experience. I moved to Lima, Peru in 2001 and stayed until 2009. I wrote a book about my experiences there which was published by Perseid Press (www.incaexpat.com). Yes, living in Lima showed that much of the American programming was absolute lies. Nice article.
