Great article! At one point I was considering an MFA. I decided to go to Peru for a few months to pick up Spanish. I ended up staying for 10 years. I think you get a lot of feedback from editors on short stories, and living in Peru provided me with the opportunity to practice my craft because it was so inexpensive. These days, I'm not even sure people should pursue a Bachelor's degree, at least not in the US.
