Great comment! I'd heard about the "right to repair" issue. It seems our anti-trust laws should stop that kind of thing, but the government fails to enforce those. Some people love to tinker on cars. I can do a couple small fixes, but I should have learned more about electricity when I was young. What's your opinion on pulling parts in decent shape from junkyard vehicles? My guess is that it's acceptable in some instances (particularly if you're driving a car with 150,000+ miles on it), but other parts fail with enough frequency that you should really go new. Price is also a factor, as is ease of removal. Frankly, I'm looking forward to the day when we have quality public transportation.
