I agree with this for the most part, thought I really disliked Tenant. In fact, I disliked Tenant to the point where it made me rethink my appreciation for Interstellar and Inception. In my opinion, Nolan got a little too cute and too sloppy with his metaphor.

I was surprised that I didn't have much of a response to putting The Dark Knight as the least of his Batman films. Other than Tenant, Nolan's films are pretty consistently entertaining (and thought provoking).

I got into an argument with a writer I know who always liked to lord his Master's degree over me. I was defending Nolan, and Mr. Master's was complaining about Nolan in ways he refused to nail down (Mr. Master's degree accused me of not understanding literature). I think it was a case of how when some people feel they "discover" an artist, they become resentful when that artist hits it big.

Mr. Master's degree eventually blocked me on Facebook. First he wrote about how he hadn't watched Game of Thrones since season three, then he wrote a long article about what was wrong with the final season. I replied, "If you haven't watched all the seasons, then why should anyone listen to your opinion on the series?" That's what got me blocked.

I still think it's a fair question.
