I can think of a couple of things, but I'm not certain they're the same things that stood out for you. 1. That bicycle wouldn't fit all the guys on the Cutter team. 2. When they tape his feet to the pedals it gave him a huge advantage. 3. A pedal won't just fall off if you stomp down on it. 4. When the Italians offer Dave Stohler to take the lead, he shouldn't say "thank you." He'd have known they were making him work harder. There are probably more.
