I find it odd that conservatives object to public schools. It's been my experience that public schools (as well as the media) show excessive tolerance to damaging conservative beliefs. This tolerance is at the expense of life affirming beliefs. More recently, I've made a concerted effort to call out abusive belief systems when I see them.
