I haven't had a conversation with my dad in more than 20 years. In the early 2000s it was exactly as you said. People who had absolutely no idea would pressure me as if the whole thing was my fault. I ghosted those jerks too.

As a member of Generation X, I won't forget how we were hammered as lazy and slackers every single dang day in the media. I've done my best to stand up for Millennials and Generation Z, but there's only so much one person can do. When Boomers get all hurt and try to claim they get attacked too (Ok Boomer), I have to explain to them the difference between retaliation and unprovoked aggression.

I'm glad accountability is becoming a more common part of the social narrative. Perhaps the Boomers are the first generation we caught misbehaving on video. They won't be the last... but hopefully the mistakes won't be as egregious in the future.
