I hear you, this mirrors my experience to a large extent. I confronted the local pastor about why he doesn't speak up about all the racism and profanity people put on their bumper stickers. He launched into a tirade about protecting gun rights. It seems like we're stuck doing a lot of heavy lifting. There's almost nobody you can turn to for support.
