I keep thinking of the first parts of The Fellowship of the Ring when Frodo decides to move, and he walks around with his buddies, and they throw a housewarming party for him. None of that moves the plot, but those are the moments I like most whenever I reread the book. Yes, keep in the everyday fluff. Some people find great comfort in that kind of work.
