I only said that to my father once and I didn't feel good about it. He was being a sexist jerk. I haven't talked to him in 20 years. I'm surprised you reconciled with your father. There is always the option of not allowing people like that into your life at all. What was the immediate aftermath of the altercation? What happened the next time you saw him?
