I see my language was not entirely clear in that quote. My apologies, let me elaborate.

I don’t feel Disney is being sincere in their fight against racism because their bigger goal seems to be to take advantage of these threats in order to market their films. Death threats and harassment have to stop, and it happens to working class people as much as celebrities.

Any threats that any black actors or anyone receives in the United States are unforgiveable. But black teachers are also getting death threats for teaching real history in the United States. Teaching that history might actually help reduce racism in our country. Another problem is that teachers don’t have the financial resources to pay for protection, or launch a legal response when they’re fired from their jobs.

I frequently get death threats too. They’re horrible. I get harassed on social media all the time. The way to fight this is for big corporations like Disney to be strong about fighting racism.

Disney even made claims that Wyatt Russell was getting death threats because of his character in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” I have no doubt that Russell, or any celebrity, is harassed and receives death threats. That’s because America is a violent and intolerant place. But the response to this isn’t to say “Star Wars fans are Toxic.” The response should be to fight racism.
