I think that's a strong argument. I never tend to read annotations anyway. There has to be some mechanism to convey that certain problematic language is no longer deemed acceptable. Maybe the answer lies simply in forming a better society where everybody already knows. It's a tough problem, thanks for your thoughtful comments.
