I think too often rural areas insist on preparing their children for a world that no longer exists. It leads to frustration and misdirected anger. Spontaneously being mean to a retired minister is something I hadn't heard before. I'm sorry they had to deal with that. I think too much of what is essential to the American psyche simply isn't sustainable.
