I think you're making valid points. It's probably important to make a distinction between a sincere emotional response and a theatrical emotional response (like Kavanaugh's).

Yes, everyone has a right to defend themselves, but at the same time you're probably more effective at defending yourself if you maintain a level head.

Yes, there is too much of an expectation on non-white people to behave a certain way. Nobody should have to endure being attacked by an entitled drunk person screaming racial slurs.

I think we still have to be reflective on what is a normal human reaction. Quite often, a normal human reaction is something that we should work to suppress in favor of pursuing a better society.

I wasn't necessarily advocating "turning the other cheek," I want people to respond deliberately and rationally rather than with theatrical emotion.

I think a lot of what white Americans believe is "normal" is the artificial outrage of residual white supremacy. Essentially, I'm tired of Tucker Carlson flipping out all day, or entitled jerks who think they can overthrow the government. This is a complex issue, I appreciate your thoughtful comment.
