I used to think that some could be made to see the light. I spent a year trying to convince my cousin. He knew my wife, he knew my kids, he heard the stories of how MAGA jerks harassed them when they went out in public. He heard how we endured violence when Trump’s “white power” tweet brought the killers out of the woods. I didn’t think he’d vote for Biden, but I hoped he would at least abstain from voting for Trump. It turned out not to be the case and he admitted as much. Fortunately, 2020 showed that reasonable thinkers are still a majority, but as for the 74 million who voted Trump (if that number is even accurate, and I have my doubts), I’m done with them. Other people can continue trying to convince them if they want to, but I’m using a different tactic. Thanks for the thought provoking comment.
