I was in Peru when Hurricane Katrina hit. I remember Peruvians looking at the places people lived and saying, "We didn't realize people lived like that in the US." People always try to hit you with the nonsensical argument that "people have it worse" elsewhere. First of all, that's no justification for abuse. Second of all, it's not even true.
