I wonder, too, if Roald Dahl’s pro-vaccination status makes him a target. But, you’re right, society has evolved and we have a more enlightened perspective on many things. I think the classic works of literature have a theme of kindness even if they occasionally make hurtful, insensitive, or otherwise objectionable comments.
