I'll be interested in reading that article! There are so many misconceptions about the writing community. 'Manufacturing Consent' by Noam Chomsky is a revealing read. Our literature is part of a propaganda model designed to maintain social control. I constantly get into arguments with writers who assume books are published out of a pursuit of profit... even though few books actually turn a profit. It's inconceivable to most people that there are entities in the world with objectives other than the acquisition of money (where money comes from is like a singularity, it doesn't obey the other laws of economics)... but I'm getting a little too philosophical for a comment :) I appreciate your thoughts!
