I'm delighted to read your comment Simon, I was wondering about the UK perspective on US censorship. I'm like you in that I'm anti-censorship, however complete free speech can get really ugly. If you happened to catch the recent documentary about Q-Anon, one of the developers of 4chan (is that the page or was it 8chan?), said his perspective on free speech changed when he saw how ugly it got. I wrestle with this idea often.
It's interesting that the topics of how the US and UK have engaged in censorship feel, to mee anyway, as if they have been buried. These examples should be a constant warning. That's particularly true in the US where the ideas of tolerance and equality have been censored.
