I'm glad to get this comment, I had hoped this article didn't come across as too heavy handed. It's hard to maintain a light tone on such a serious subject :). I know what you mean about not having an off switch. I think writers tend to be obsessive people, and self-destructive hobbies are bad news. It's better to run marathons or write novels!
