I'm less concerned about minor grammatical errors than ill conceived thoughts and phrasings. I prefer to have an editor look at my stuff out of fear that I inadvertently said something offensive, or said something that could be misinterpreted as offensive. I think we all try to do our best, but we all need an external perspective on how we're coming across. If I'm way off base on something, I'd prefer an editor tell me than the whole world.
