Interesting concept. When I was in college, I was shocked at how many professors only knew great works of literature through the summary. I think academia pushes us in that direction to some extent. You're considered "well-rounded" if you have a superficial awareness of a lot of knowledge (great for Jeopardy). These days, I'm not too worried about spoilers because I usually can see the plot twists coming anyway. I could perceive a value in listening to summaries, but, for me, the purpose would be to look for something I was interested in sinking my teeth into. Thought provoking ariticle!
