Interesting piece. There's a lot of merit here. Part of me wants to debate a few points, but I think I'll reflect on them instead. I like the overall concept of drawing a line in the sand after exiting an abusive relationship and working towards something better. I've seen what happens 40 years later when no steps are taken and it's not pretty... it leads to a lot of broken lives.
