Losing Weight Is the Advice That I Keep Ignoring
It doesn’t help that every health professional that tells me this is obese
I took my dog into the vet for his annual checkup. He’d gotten sick over Christmas and fortunately he’s been feeling much better.
This is the first time my little puppy has gotten sick. He’s a year old now. I discovered there is no such thing as a doggie emergency room. When you come into the veterinary clinic desperate about your sick dog, they act like you’re nuts.
“Well, we can make an appointment for sometime three months from now.”
“Three months! This poor little guy had me up all night because he couldn’t poop! Something is wrong with him!”
There are a couple cop movies with dogs where the police officer storms into a hospital and holds a doctor at gunpoint and forces him to save the dog.
“That dog is a police officer!” the hero cries, and we all cheer in the crowd.
On a side note, don’t ever take your children to a movie featuring a dog. The dog always dies. Always.
Finally, I got somebody to look at my dog and they took an x-ray and gave him some antibiotics. He didn’t get better the next day. My wife looked at me sadly and said, “He’s dying.” He didn’t…
