Maybe it's just a consequence of getting older. You're right, I did always respect my wife and my mother. As a father, I finally had the opportunity to embrace a lifestyle that was what I wanted and not what was forced on me by more powerful forces (patriarchy). Even when you free yourself of that, it takes years for the fog to clear. Having kids changes you too. I'll have to think about this more. Thanks for the comment!
