Most of these systems are flawed on purpose, and it's the conservatives who insist on keeping it that way. The worst of it is, the Republicans are extreme conservatives and the Democrats are moderate conservatives... so there's no way to implement any changes that have a chance. It gets frustrating. I largely blame how our system is set up to give a disproportionate amount of power to rural areas.
