No. It disturbs me that so many people think this, but if your life, your wellbeing, your mental health is in danger you always have a right to gain space and protect yourself. Always, always, always. This idea that survivors have some sort of obligation to confront an abuser and politely explain to them why they're leaving is extremely toxic. Your first obligation is to yourself. Get away, get safe. Thanks for the comment!
