One of the things that has become very clear in recent years is how angry people get when you point out an abusive system. This article made me think of how people will accuse you of "hating America" if you point out incidents of systemic racism. I think oppressive individuals share a common mindset. They think they have the right to feel offended when you call them out on their disgusting behavior, and those of us who try to live a life abiding by the rules of decorum end up falling silent.
