One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of "people" interacting with you online aren't people at all. They're the same kind of chatbots you encounter on customer service web pages, and they're only there to discredit you. I've come to believe the true members of the human race are a lot more reasonable than we might believe... it's just that we rarely get to talk with other real human beings.
