Thank you for bringing up that point about rural black farmers in the south and Native Americans. Those represent examples that are potentially very different from my experience. I was writing based on my observations as a white person in the north. My home town is the type of place that supports radical conservative candidates like Trump. I also tried to emphasize that although this was my experience, it might have changed since then. I should have used "White Rural Populations" in the title.
