Thank you for that thoughtful comment. I hadn't heard of that awful attack, but your assessment is spot on. People see what they want to see, and that's a problem when ignorance is celebrated. I think there have been periods in history in which education was celebrated, but then religion figured out that they lose power if the population learns enough not to believe in superstition.
