Thanks for the comment. Yes, I have a soft spot for practical effects myself. However, I think it's interesting how my kids can see right through them. For example, in 'Empire Strikes Back' Luke is taking off in his X-wing and my kids just started laughing. When I asked them why, they said, "Daddy...they just moved the camera down." I don't know how they developed this innate knowledge of movie magic. I've made them watch a few 'Twilight Zone' episodes. Those are really wonderful examples of how engaging a program can be with great storytelling. 'Terminator' fits into that category...even though pretentious people will argue with you if you say so.
