The resentment is probably misplaced, but that doesn’t mean that boys don’t feel it. This is sort of similar to how we dismiss the stress children might feel because they don’t have to worry about “paying the bills,” but that stress is still extreme. I think my psychology was more a result of a bad home situation than what the teachers were doing. You often see privileged white people complaining about how much they “don’t” have even though they get every advantage. This experience of mine falls into that category I’m embarrassed to say.
