The Rittenhouse case is a perfect piece of evidence to support the importance of critical race theory. We have an inconsistent legal system. This shows exactly why black people end up getting major prison sentences when white people go free for equivalent crimes. If you keep the misdemeanor gun charge, now it's a lot harder to argue self-defense because Rittenhosue was engaged in an illegal act at the time of the shooting. If a person illegally possesses a weapon, it's the duty of responsible citizens to take that weapon. Had Rittenhouse been black, I doubt the gun charge would have been dropped. That's just the way America works.
