They have me on Advair. I’ve been on albuterol for years, but I think it is no longer effective. Actually, I’m concerned it has led to lung scarring because it’s just not working at all.

I’ve had exercise induced asthma as long as I can remember. They had me on Symbicort for a while, but then my insurance stopped covering it so I was off it for a while.

It had worked fine all these years, but I think there’s a price to be paid for any medication. I was a little worried about the long-term effects of Advair and Symbicort, but my breathing has worsened so I guess I’ll just have to deal with them.

I do get the impression that my doctor is only interested in getting me out of there. I’ll give my current treatment another week or two, but if it doesn’t start getting better I’ll go in and demand to talk to a respiratory specialist. Thanks so much for your concern and advice!
