This is a very nice article Barb! I always find it amazing how difficult it is to get writers to share their own works on social media, much less the works of others. In college, I always used to say "the literate are overrepresented in the works of literature," I meant it facetiously at the time, but there's some truth to that criticism. However, I mean it as a philosophical point, and in most cases I reject submissions with an excessive amount of errors. The only exception is if the work is brilliant and offers a story that needs to be told, which is extremely rare. I review independent books in my small publication because I feel I have a responsibility to help out other writers. Thanks for writing this thoughtful piece!
