This is a very reflective and powerful piece. I resisted the push to enter academia with every fiber of my being. My grades and my interests seemed to make teaching a logical choice, but after college I couldn't stand walking those halls anymore. I still fight with the bizarre and entitled thinking everyday, along with my equally frustrating battles with non-academic thinkers. Oh well, it's good to have conflict I guess, it gives me something to write about.
