This is an interesting topic of discussion. I've known a lot of people where "honest mistakes" seemed to happen all the time. An apology is nice, but that doesn't stop the bleeding. You can say "I'm sorry I broke your priceless heirloom" but the priceless heirloom remains broken. I see what you're saying though, there's a large spectrum of transgressions. Sometimes people have a right to remain hurt even after an apology has been issued. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.
