This is the reason why I read a lot of independent books by authors that nobody has ever heard of. Every now and then you stumble on a story that's just too honest for life, similar to what I imagine the The Mad Women's Ball must be like (based on your description). There are just so many stories out there that NEED to be told that our society just... can't... handle. We don't want to talk about how unfair it was to throw women into a mental institution because a man got bored with them. Think of how many of our essential beliefs that undermines! And there are BILLIONS of stories like that... to the point where I believe it's fair to question absolutely everything we think, particularly the things that make people huffy. :) Lovely, lovely post, thank you Linda!
