We have a way around this that's part of our system of involuntary response. I've had times when I've allowed myself to provoke a bad boss so I got fired when I couldn't come up with the self-discipline to leave a job on my own. I've been thinking about the topic of echo chambers. I agree with what you wrote in your comment, but I think an echo chamber can be good if you surround yourself with good people. I can't figure out these people who deliberately surround themselves with the worst information possible... Thanks for the insightful comment!
