We have to be cautious on social media. I suspect that many of the entities there aren't even human beings. They're some form of AI that spews a pre-recorded message designed to incite violence. I've tried to get through to people who are committed to hatred, but I find that many of them view any conversation as provocation. Have you had that experience (that's an honest question)? My interactions with people are different in real life than they are through the internet. I've received too many insults and death threats online to tolerate that kind of treatment, so they get an instant block. There's a greater chance of finding common ground when you have a face to face interaction. It's most disheartening when otherwise educated people are dismissive of the challenges other people face. There's so much elitism in the writing community for example, and there shouldn't be. Anyway, thanks for the thoughtful comment.
