Wealth inequity is a form of racism even if some small fraction of that inequity finds its way to members of marginalized communities. I think the inflated wages of NFL quarterbacks are used to deter our society from implementing the kind of necessary change that's required to eliminate widespread poverty. I don't think that anyone (CEO, actor, inventor, whatever) in the US should be making 50 million a year. Inflated wages like that contribute to inequitable situations that leave marginalized groups unable to escape poverty. It's time to place greater value on everyone's labor rather than have a small group of elites and a huge population of people who are exploited because it's impossible to earn enough to survive.
