Well, traditional publishing has issues like cultural theft--a privileged person steals a story that doesn't rightfully belong to them. The democratic option of allowing anyone to publish is really important in my opinion. It offers people access to the kind of narratives that have been censored by traditional gatekeepers. It scares me how traditional publishers are only owned by a couple massive media conglomerates. It's been really hard to get different ideas out there... but it's easier now.
