We're an immigrant family, so we've been the target of hate rhetoric from conservatives for the last 10 years (and more to be honest). "Speak up?" Hardly, half the kids in my daughter's class think it's acceptable to chant "build the wall" as if it's not a racist slogan. That's the reality of our society, it's a hellscape.
