What you said is very true. I really noticed it when I lived in Peru. There was another population of jerks that tried to pretend they were wealthy simply because they were American, and they largely got away with it.

They see how American millionaires act and they mimic them. The thing we have to remember is that even millionaires are a long way down the food chain. The billionaires are the ones really calling the shots.
