When I was student teaching, my mentor teacher referred to my system as "sloppy." But I preferred to give my students the opportunity to express themselves. Yes, you don't have your class marching in step, but they get to retain some of their personality. I think pounding out that personality is the objective of some teachers. Thanks for this article!
